About Us
What we do
Indexhog answers one question about a website: are its pages actually indexable, and are they actually indexed? We build a URL inventory from your sitemaps, push new and changed URLs to search engines via IndexNow, probe those URLs for transport health, audit them for indexability, and read per-URL index state back from Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
The thing we will not promise
IndexNow does not reach Google. The IndexNow endpoint fans out to participating engines — Bing, Yandex, Naver, Seznam — and Google is not one of them. Any tool claiming to "push" your pages into Google is selling you something that does not exist.
For Google we observe instead: with a read-only Search Console connection we report what Google itself says about each URL. Observation is not submission, and we say so on every surface rather than letting the ambiguity sell a tier.
How it works
- Discover — sitemaps are parsed and normalized into a per-project URL inventory; URLs can also be imported or added by hand.
- Submit — verified projects push new and changed URLs to IndexNow in batches, with full submission history.
- Monitor — each URL is probed for status codes, redirect chains, server errors, timeouts, and WAF blocks, with state changes debounced so one bad minute does not become an alert.
- Audit — robots.txt rules, meta robots,
X-Robots-Tag, and canonical tags decide whether a URL may be indexed at all. - Read index state — Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools report whether a URL is indexed, which is a different question from whether it may be.
- Alert — findings become issues with severity and status, plus a digest email instead of a notification per event.
How URL inspections work
Monitoring means authorised service providers retrieve pages already in your inventory. A failed retrieval is recorded as a failed attempt and does not replace the last confirmed observation. You may only add domains you own or are authorised to monitor, and every project must prove ownership before automated work begins.
How we work
Honest limits: we describe what the product observes, not what we wish it could guarantee. No engine is obliged to crawl or index anything, and we never imply otherwise.
Your data stays yours: projects, URLs, issues, and index states are private to your organisation. We do not publish, resell, or aggregate your monitoring data into anything public.
Least privilege: the Search Console connection requests read-only access, engine credentials are encrypted at rest, and you can revoke a connection at any time.
