Redirect Chain
A redirect chain is a sequence of two or more redirects between the requested URL and the page that finally responds.
Why it matters
Chains accumulate quietly across migrations — each cutover adds a hop to the last — and they are one of the few indexing faults that a plain uptime check will always report as healthy.
